LandCheck is a research aid published by BioBash. By using it you agree to these terms.
What LandCheck is, and is not
LandCheck displays data fetched live from public sources: county and state GIS servers, FEMA, USGS, USDA, the US Census Bureau, USFWS, OpenStreetMap contributors and the county/city services listed under Coverage. LandCheck does not create, own or warrant that data.
Parcel boundaries are county GIS renderings, not surveys. Flood, soil, elevation, HOA and every other readout can be out of date, incomplete or wrong. Nothing here is a substitute for a licensed surveyor, a title search, a lender's appraisal, or legal advice. Do not make a purchase decision on LandCheck alone.
Data providers change or switch off their services without notice. Features can stop working and coverage can shrink; LandCheck is provided as is, without warranty of any kind, and to the fullest extent permitted by law BioBash is not liable for any loss arising from its use.
Acceptable use
Use LandCheck for your own research. Do not scrape it, hammer the underlying public services through it, or use owner information it displays for unsolicited commercial contact — several states prohibit that use of assessor data.
You may not resell, re-host or white-label LandCheck without written permission.
Changes
These terms can change; the date above moves when they do. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
Privacy
No account, no cookies, no advertising trackers. LandCheck runs in your browser. Your saved places, settings, notes and license key live in your browser's local storage and are never uploaded unless you turn on Pro sync.
What leaves your browser
Map clicks and searches are sent directly to the public data providers to fetch results (for example a coordinate to FEMA or USGS, an address to OpenStreetMap's Nominatim, a map area to a county GIS server). Those services see your IP address and may log the request under their own policies. LandCheck itself does not receive these requests.
Page views are counted with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and no fingerprinting and reports only aggregate numbers.
Hosting is Cloudflare; standard server logs (IP address, user agent, request path) are retained briefly for security and operations.
If you buy Pro
Purchases are handled by our merchant of record (Lemon Squeezy), which collects your payment and billing details under its own privacy policy and gives you a license key. BioBash never sees your card number.
Activating a key sends the key to LandCheck's server, which checks it with the store and stores a hashed copy so later checks are fast. If you enable sync, your saved places (labels, notes, coordinates, parcel fields you saved) are stored under that hashed key on Cloudflare's key-value storage so your other devices can fetch them. Nothing else is stored, and you can wipe it at any time from the Pro screen or by email.
Your rights
Clearing your browser's site data removes everything LandCheck keeps locally. For sync data or any privacy request, email the address below and it will be deleted within 30 days.
LandCheck Pro
Pro is a one-time purchase that unlocks the features listed on the Pro screen in the app for the buyer's personal use on the browsers they activate. It is a license, not a transfer of ownership.
Everything data-related stays free for everyone. Pro features depend on the same public services and can be affected when those change.
A key can be deactivated on one browser and used on another. Sharing a key publicly voids it.
Refunds
A free 7-day trial unlocks the Pro tools on one browser without a purchase; sync requires a license. 14-day, no-questions refund. If Pro is not for you, email within 14 days of purchase with the email you bought with and you will get a full refund through the store. Refunds after 14 days are at our discretion, for example when a Pro feature stopped working because a data provider changed.
Refunds are issued by the merchant of record to the original payment method and typically appear within 5–10 business days.
Disclosures
Referral links. LandCheck may show links to third-party services near a parcel (surveyors, septic, well, solar, lenders and similar). Some of those are paid referral links, and they will be marked as such next to the link. Referral links never change what you pay, and they are never a recommendation of a specific company.
